Pro Web Consulting presents the “SEO on Amazon” White Paper, realized by the Pro Web SEO Specialist, Giulia Rognoni, in collaboration with Simone Righini, SEO expert, Growth Hacker and partner of the agency.
The analysis, begun in late 2016, is based on Amazon’s number of searches: even though, when thinking of a search engine, the top-of-mind name is undoubtedly Google, it’s good to point out that 55% of users (source: BloomReach) begin their own product searches right on the e-shopping world giant. And not just to look for a specific product, but often to inquire, compare prices and read reviews.
The research compares the algorithmic operation of the two search engines and focuses on Amazon’s ranking factors and the best practices for ranking, identified in a theoretical way thanks to a thorough study of the most authoritative and empirically proven sources present online, trying to rank a specific product.
“Everything started by trying to “force” the ranking of a book on Amazon: initially, I was rather frightened, but going from rank 2,000 to rank 5 in the list in just one week gave the whole team the will to carry on this experiment, which is still taking place with excellent results” comments Simone Righini.
“SEO on Amazon is an uncharted territory, especially in Italy – commented Giulia Rognoni of Pro Web Consulting – but the influence of the e-commerce giant is undoubtedly destined to grow, so it is crucial that SEO and companies keep up the pace.”
This is an ongoing experiment that will be repeated and enriched periodically to better understand the workings of Amazon’s internal search engine.
